Meet the Resident Directors
Seville, Spain:
Are you ready?
To discover another culture, another way of living, another way of thinking is one of the greatest and most challenging adventures any human being can experience. However, to understand and comprehend the other is not an easy task. You need to be patient. You need to be flexible. You need to share and learn how to listen. Living and studying in another culture will reinforce these important skills as you discover your own resourcefulness and ability to change.
By choosing to study abroad, you have probably made one of the most important decisions of your life. Perhaps this statement sounds overwhelming, but as you grow older, you will discover that those decisions that move us away from our comfort zone and help us build character turn out to be the most rewarding, precisely because they teach us how to be both humble and courageous.
I say this with utter conviction. Born and raised in the Caribbean, educated in the United States, and having lived a professional and family life in Europe has taught me that cross-cultural differences do exist. Overcoming, understanding and respecting those differences are what makes study abroad an experience worth living.
While you will face challenges, you are not alone in this journey. CC-CS has carefully chosen Resident Directors for each program site. These unique individuals have the patience, wisdom and energy to keep you focused and animated. They will teach you how to further value your study abroad experience. They will challenge you to reach your utmost potential and get the most out of your host culture. And above all, they will help you overcome any obstacle, personal or academic, that you shall encounter while abroad. Resident Directors are the backbones of our programs. Get to know them, because they certainly are eager to know you.
This website is full of eye-opening opportunities to experience what it’s like to be a sevillano, alicantino, cordobés, or cubano. Don’t miss it. Open your mind, open your heart, and let us guide you through this journey of self-discovery and cultural immersion.
¡Bienvenidos!

Alicante, Spain:

“Without a doubt, the Alicante program site is unique, not only because of its location on the shores of the Mediterranean, but also because of its tranquility and rhythm of day-to-day life. The city of Alicante allows students to immerse themselves into the culture, unnoticed.
My role is to provide you with the resources so that you may maximize your experience in Alicante. You may choose activities according to your interests and academic needs, allowing you to live the culture. These activities include dance, theater, sports, cooking, volunteering, tutoring in English, etc. The key is to find a good combination of study and leisure so that you may achieve your individual objectives and benefit each day from this unique experience.”

Resident Director in Alicante

"Known as ‘la Docta’ for its deep-rooted academic history, Córdoba is home to six universities and hosts thousands of students. Though it’s the nation’s second-largest city, Córdoba still maintains a strong sense of local community. Walking through the streets, you’ll encounter few foreign tourists speaking English, providing an ideal environment for Spanish language immersion.
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the students’ linguistic progress and personal integration throughout their stay. Having studied and lived abroad myself, I know that learning another language and living in another country is enriching in a way that is hard to describe. Forget your fears and explore the new world this experience offers you!”
