Seville and Alicante Summer Term Programs
The Center for Cross-Cultural Study offers the opportunity for juniors and seniors in high school to take university level classes during the Seville Summer Term or Alicante Summer Term. In our program, students can choose from a variety of courses designed to advance mature, correct expression of Spanish language and critical thinking.
A study abroad experience with CC-CS involves excellent professors and interesting classes. In-class instruction is enriched with cultural visits to places of interest. |

Gap Semester/Academic Year Abroad
If you are a graduating high school senior who is looking for a meaningful, language-intensive, international experience before entering college or have received mid-year admissions to a college, you may want to consider enrolling in a CC-CS University-Level Semester Program during the gap period. Students earn university-level credit, take courses alongside other university students, and participate in all regular program activities and excursions.
Most Gap Semester/Year students participate either the Intermediate & Advanced Spanish Studies program in Alicante, Spain or the Advanced Spanish Studies program in Seville, Spain.
- Alicante: Intermediate & Advanced Spanish Studies: CC-CS works with Universidad de Alicante to offer language and culture courses specifically designed for non-native speakers. CC-CS students have frequent contact with a CC-CS Resident Director, who guides the students through the process of studying abroad and living with a host family. Excursions include a weekend study trip to Granada or Barcelona and guided visits to the historic city center, theater, Castillo de Santa Bárbara, and more. Students may also participate in workshops for credit ranging from Flamenco guitar and percussion to wind surfing and sailing through Universidad de Alicante's Living the Culture program.
- Seville: Advanced Spanish Studies: Designed for the advanced student that has completed the equivalent of intermediate Spanish. The core of the Advanced Spanish Studies program is a choice of courses in Spanish language and culture taught at the Center by native Spanish faculty. You immerse yourself in Spanish language and culture while fulfilling the requirements needed for Spanish, international studies, business and other majors. In addition to living in a Spanish home, you are given the opportunity to participate in a full array of study tours, cultural events, and social activities.
