Independent Programming
Independent Program's Methodology
- The initial Intensive Language Period focuses on the Communicative Method; students spend a large portion of class time practicing their Spanish through "situaciones" and group discusions. The professor uses the students' conversations as the impetus for vocabulary acquistion and correction of grammar.
- Through practicing everyday Spanish and discussing topics that students care about, students discover a desire to learn and practice Spanish outside of the classroom.
- Students choose the rest of their semester courses from a broad curriculum in a wide range of disciplines.
- All CC-CS courses seek maximum student engagement through the integration of our Critical Thinking/Writing Across the Curriculum Program.
