Spanish Studies Program

Spanish Studies program in Córdoba, Argentina is a great way to experience life at an Argentine university while immersing yourself in the local culture. This program is designed for the student that has completed one semester of intermediate college Spanish. Students will attend classes with other international students at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) through their international department, thePrograma de Español y Cultural Latinoamericana (PECLA). In addition to living with a host family, Spanish Studies students will participate in a variety of cultural activities and excursions around Córdoba and beyond.

  • Semesters begin with an intensive language period (Monday-Friday)
  • After the intensive period, classes generally meet Monday-Thursday, allowing for independent travel
  • Prerequisite: successful completion of one semester of intermediate college Spanish or the equivalent, or native/near native speakers of Spanish
  • UNC requires students to be enrolled in a college or university
  • 3.0 GPA in Spanish coursework required
  • 14-18 credits per semester (includes intensive language and culture course)*
  • Options for experiential learning:
*Note:  Students interested in completing an academic year in Argentina have three options: the American academic year (Fall to Spring),  the Argentine academic year (Spring to Fall), or the American academic year plus an Independent Research Project during the January break. 
All courses are taught by Argentine university professors.

All students live with local host families.
