Travel Guide
Alicante, Spain

Now that all of that paperwork is over, its time to get excited and start making your travel plans!

Booking your flight

First things first, you'll need to book your flight. Buying tickets in advance can often save you money, so plan ahead.
Student Universe is a good source to search for student airfares. You may also explore other search engines or contact your local travel agent.

IMPORTANT!!!
Almost all flights from the U.S. to Spain and Argentina are overnight flights. So, if you are flying from the U.S., you MUST depart THE DAY BEFORE orientation begins. See the suggested departure dates below for your program.

Remember: Spanish Studies needs to know the exact time, date, airline name, and flight number of your arrival in your host city. Make sure to fill out the "Arrival Information" form in your Student Account or email your arrival information to info[at]spanishstudies.org.

Note: Italicized dates should be regarded as tentative.

* Students should plan to arrive at the orientation hotel in Alicante between noon and 3 pm (Spanish time). Lunch will be served at 3 pm.  Students arriving at the hotel between noon and 3pm will receive arrival support from Spanish Studies staff.  Students will be responsible for making transportation arrangements to the orientation hotel and for all costs involved.  We recommend that you ask the taxi driver for a receipt.
**Housing through Spanish Studies ends on the "Program End Date." Students should plan their return flights for that day.
***Spanish university courses generally end in December with finals scheduled in January. Students will have an add/drop period to determine their schedule and may seek to arrange early exams with the course's professor.
