Scholarship and Funding Information
Study
abroad does not have to be out of your reach financially. In fact, if
you already receive financial aid most students are able to use part, if
not all, of their financial aid for study abroad. Often, a "Contractual Agreement" or "Consortium Agreement"
Form is completed by the college and The Center for Cross-Cultural
Study for purposes of applying financial aid to your study abroad
program. You may contact us at info[at]spanishstudies.org for
further information and instructions regarding the transfer of
financial aid. Your adviser or your financial aid officer can also
assist you with this process. This must be done in advance of payment
due dates.
CC-CS Scholarship Program
The
Center for Cross-Cultural Study Scholarship Program is open to all
students enrolled in CC-CS study abroad programs in Spain, Argentina,
and Cuba.
Students may apply to one of the two scholarship options:
Since 2001, over $100,000 has been awarded to students enrolled in our programs.
Only students who are enrolled in regular CC-CS study abroad
programs may receive a scholarship.* All submissions must be received in
the CC-CS Amherst, MA office (via e-mail or snail mail) by your CC-CS
program's application deadline. Late scholarship applications will not be considered.
CC-CS
scholarships are awarded directly to the student. Winners will be
notified prior to program departure and will receive a check shortly
after the start of their CC-CS program.
Note: Students who are part of special group programs are not eligible for CC-CS Scholarships.

The
CC-CS Alumni Scholar Fund was developed in 2004 and designed to benefit
returning students wishing to embark on an additional cross-cultural
adventure with The Center for Cross-Cultural Study. CC-CS now offers all
alumni students a stipend to apply towards another CC-CS study abroad
experience in Spain, Argentina or Cuba.
Alumni scholarships are as follows:
- Academic Year: $1,000
- Semester: $500
- 7 Week Summer Term: $200
- 1/2 Week Summer or Winter Terms: $100
Please
note that all CC-CS Alumni who choose to attend an additional program
with CC-CS will automatically receive the Alumni Scholarship. Alumni who
receive an Alumni Scholarship are also eligible to apply for the CC-CS Scholarship Program.
Outside Scholarships
The Gilman International Scholarship Program is
open to all Pell Grant recipients that study abroad. All Gilman
Scholarship recipients will receive an additional $500 scholarship award
from CC-CS for any CC-CS program. Students are responsible for notifying CC-CS if they are Gilman Scholarship recipients.

believed critical to U.S.
national security, including language. For deadlines and more details visit

There

schools have special funding available to students studying abroad, or
there may be a study abroad scholarship offered through your local
Rotary Club. We encourage you to talk to your school or search the internet to research these funding sources.
