Internships
CC-CS offers various opportunities for students to gain
professional work experience participate in an internship while they are
abroad:
Semester and Summer Internship Programs
The primary focus of these programs is the
student's internship. Students may complete an internship at a local business or organization during the
summer or during the semester. All internship programs begin with an intensive language course, and during the semester students may also choose to take a content course alongside their internship.
Internship Course Option
All program locations. Students at the advanced Spanish level may
undertake an internship for 3-4 credits as part of their regular CC-CS
semester program. Internships are treated as a course, in addition to
the student's regular course schedule. The course option is also available as a summer term in Argentina.
Practicum in Education
Seville location only. During the second Summer Term in Seville, CC-CS
offers this special internship for students interested in education.
Students work as Teacher’s Assistants in CC-CS’s Playschool program for
Spanish children aged 4 to 12. In addition to receiving formal
instruction in English, the children learn about the U.S. culture
through arts & crafts, technology, games and theme week activities.
Teacher’s Assistants combine the study of language-acquisition theory
with teaching methodology while developing important cultural
perspectives on the field of education.
