Semi-Integrated Studies ProgramDesigned for the advanced student that has completed one semester of advanced college Spanish. Through courses at both the CC-CS Center and at Universidad de Sevilla, you benefit from the best combination of cultural preparation, specially designed courses, and guided direct enrollment at the local university, according to your preparation and academic goals.

At the Center you immerse yourself in Spanish language and culture through courses specially designed for non-Spanish students, while fulfilling the requirements needed for Spanish, international studies, business and other majors. In addition to living in a Spanish home, you are given the opportunity to participate in a full array of study tours, cultural events, and social activities. At the Center, you also benefit from the expertise of CC-CS staff, who guide you to more fully immerse yourself in the sevillano community through volunteer work, local clubs, internships, etc. All courses are taught by native professors at the CC-CS Center in downtown Seville.

In addition to your regular classes at the Center, you also take one or two courses at Universidad de Sevilla from the university’s many disciplines, including humanities, science and technology, social science and justice, health science, and education. Since you are enrolled in a course at the university, you enjoy the benefits of the resources and clubs offered at the university, with many opportunities to interact with local Spanish students.

CC-CS COURSES
All courses at the Center are taught in Spanish by highly qualified Spanish university professors with extensive experience in teaching American students:
  • The initial Intensive Language Period focuses on the Communicative Method; students spend a large portion of class time practicing their Spanish through situaciones and group discussions. The professor uses the students' conversations as the impetus for vocabulary acquisition and correction of grammar.
  • Through practicing everyday Spanish and discussing topics that students care about, students discover a desire to learn and practice Spanish outside of the classroom.
  • All CC-CS courses seek maximum student engagement through the integration of our Critical Thinking/Writing Across the Curriculum Program.
  • Semi-Integrated students enroll in 1-3 courses at the Center (in combination with couses at Universidad de Sevilla, for a total of 9-13 total credits)

Integrated Courses at Universidad de Sevilla

Students enroll in 1-2 courses at Universidad de Sevilla. Before leaving for Spain, students in the Semi-Integrated Spanish Studies program should have four to five possible approved USEV courses to provide flexibility when finalizing course schedules on-site in Seville. USEV courses range between 2-4 credits; the majority of USEV courses carry 3 credits.

During the Intensive Period, you will meet with the Resident Director and professors to choose your final course schedule.

Because there is a wide range of courses available, CC-CS has prepared the following navigation guide and recommended courses, to help you plan your integrated courses:

You may search the USEV Website for additional disciplines and course options. Enrollment in USEV courses depends upon Spanish language level. If you would like to preregister for a course outside of the recommended courses, please contact CC-CS.

Please note: The academic calendar of Universidad de Sevilla causes a delay at the end of the semester in issuing your transcript.
